I give this story a 3.5 as I do enjoy the play by play series. First, overall, I enjoyed Cole's and Savannah's story, however, I was hoping for more angst between the characters. It sort of began that way after their first meeting - when I read the except before the book released. So, I was excited that I might be reading a story with lots of sparks between the characters -- the old opposite attracts, got off on the wrong foot, so to speak. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and I was a bit disappointed in that. I liked Savannah holding her own with Cole, but Cole evolved too fast with his image makeover. His image was so bad, he needed an image consultant, but it didn't really take long form him to turnaround. No angst or grievances nor mistakes with the press. Plus they got along so well, so fast. Kind of boring. The good news is Jaci does not let us down when writing love scenes. the patio scene was touching (no pun intended) and passionate. Loved it. I also hope she keeps Liz's character in the series cause she is great comedy relief, "Well, f**k a duck". Best line in the whole book. Looking forward to the next story and hoping there are more sparks.
