Loved this book!!! Statistically valid and a good read too!
Collins reviews public companies that under performed the market, then over-performed for an extended period. I like how he explained that looking back it is clear when these companies turned the corner. However, at the time it was a consuming process of endless discussions which markets to chase, which opportunities to invest their scarce resources in, how to deploy physical and human resources for these markets. A key part of the turnaround was always honesty and discussion - and focusing on what you do best.
A lot of the concepts are not new but brought together well and entertaining.
