Considering that I expected this book to be really great and brilliant and live up to its hype, I am somewhat disappointed in the book upon finishing it. I thought the prof was interested more in showing off or managing his reputation than giving something of value to the reader. The book may have become a bestseller largely due to the author's association with Harvard.
Having said that, the book did engage me with interesting ideas and it challenged me on various things. Being a philosophy neophyte, I was frequently lost in the book and especially had difficulty connecting things from what he had said earlier. So I thought that maybe, for a book like this, I’d need to take page-by-page notes if I were to achieve a more complete understanding of the content. Perhaps I will do that when and if I get to do a second or subsequent reading of the book.
