Fractured: Happily Never After? 3 Tales

A very cool take on three classic fairy tales (two Grimm tales and a Hans Christian Andersen). By far, the best of the bunch is Cyberella. Karaplis handles blog posts and text messages masterfully. Her take on Snow White (the naming of the character alone is really clever) is charming albeit brief.
This is definitely a book aimed at young girls. Having never been one, there were a few things I couldn't relate to. I read all of the final story ("Swan Song") wanting to buy Adi a Streisand box set--for reasons any reader over the age of thirty will quickly pick up.
I'm hoping Karaplis writes a sequel where she can stretch her talents a bit. (My only complaint is the stories were too short.) Jack and the Beanstalk would make a great story about adoption, Red Riding Hood vs. okcupid, and a barista's lattes replacing thread spun into gold? It could work.
