One of my all time favorite books about a young man in England who experiences the death of a friend through a practical joke gone wrong. Murdoch (through the use of several characters) hits upon the ideas of nature, mysticism, existence, and death just to name a few of the philisophical properties humans experience. Great book and one of my favorites!
