it was amazing
Read in January, 2012

A tour de force best read while listing to Murakami's musical references: Janachek's Sinfonietta, Bach's Well Tempered Clavier, Dowland's Lachrimae Antiquae, Michael Jackson's Billy Jean, Rolling Stones' Little Red Rooster, and most important, Nat King Cole's It's Only a Paper Moon:

Say, its only a paper moon
Hanging over a cardboard sea
But it wouldn't be make-believe
If you believed in me
