This is a classic book on fundamentals of usability. It discusses why so many everyday things are so hard to use by providing multiple examples. It also provides guidelines what needs to be done to improve usability of things being designed.

Alas, book focuses on basic principles - ”you will not find concrete prescription on how to design you next web site. But chances are that after reading this book you will look differently at many annoyances when using things around you.
