The first 2/3 of this book were amazing-Sebold crafted an incredibly beautiful, tragic story and I really was caught in the world of the young, dead Susie Salmon as she explored her heaven and watched her surviving family as they coped with her death on earth.
I did not enjoy the last chunk of the book, however. I think that there was just too much going on and the supernatural element that seemed plausible in the beginning turned into something highly fantastical. Granted, it's fiction, but I did not like the turn.
Overall, I enjoyed the book but the ending did not move me as much as the beginning did. It will be interesting to see how the movie adaptation turns out...
