Pretty cute, pretty enjoyable, definitely heartwarming. Didn't suck me in as much as I was hoping.

In general the story was great, and I think it would be loved even more by someone in the age group it was actually intended for. I loved her approach to romance (totally age-appropriate, and absolutely nothing else), and the conclusion of the plot (way better than it could have been).

There were a few things that kids might like more than me (stories about flyies getting squashed aren't something I find that amusing). I also found her songs a little strange.
