A warm and entertaining translation of a romantic classic. This is a play, so it is an easy and enjoyable read. This is a classic romance play with a lot of drive and fun and engaging characters.

Details: The story covers Cyrano and his love for his cousin Roxanne who falls in love for a soldier in his company. You need to accept the romantic premise of this story, but if you can do that, this is an amazing ride, with poetry, movement and action. Cyrano is an incredible example of panache, he is smart, witty and debonair - but also insensitive to his enemies. I have also read The Tale of Genji recently and I can not imagine 2 stories more different in form but yet alike in sensibility.

The Takeaway: It's fun, it's quick to read and it is a classic. Read it!
