A very sweet book. Sad but truthful. Oliver's mishmash world of silk gowns and trains and magic, where the sun hasn't shone in years, and where most of the food is made out of potatoes, is a bit odd, but the world isn't the point here. It's Liesl, the girl who lost her father, and Po, the ghost who doesn't remember who or what it once was, and Will, the alchemist's assistant whose mistake sets the story in motion. Oliver condenses some deep things into very beautiful thoughts.
