bookshelves: taking-a-break-from

Shelving for Now: I'm disappointed. I've waited all year for this book to come out! I'm ten chapters in and I still feel no connection to Cole or Savannah. Cole's short-fuse and whiny attitude isn't sexy. I can't, for the life of me, figure out why he's so closed-off. I don't fully buy into their chemistry (which was lukewarm through nine chapters) either. Darn it!

I'm shelving this one and may come back to it at a later time.

Kellie G. This series has the hottest covers!

Kristen I hate when that happens. It makes you wonder if it's the author who didn't feel the characters while writing the book, or if it's just us as the reader. Maybe it will work for you later.

Tammie (certified bed reader) You're exactly right, Kristen.

Michelle Flores I feel the same way. I think is because I didn't get the way Savannah works to help Cole. Still it was entreating but not at the standard of the previous books. For me the best parts where we could "see" the returning characters. Hope next one is better but I think Gavin will always be my favorite <3

Gavin, oh how I love that man! The wedding scene was the best.

I couldn't have said it better, Elizabeth! If I'm going to pay $10 for a book, it better wind up on my keepershelf! The other books were so dang good and I just knew this one would be as well. Well, here's hoping the next one is much better!

BamaGal I liked Savannah better than I did Cole. He was the caricature of a bad-boy football player; then with a great deal of help from Savannah, he suddenly became such an all around great guy...I hope she was paid well to work miracles on his image, she deserved it.

Lyrico I agree with you. It took a lot of effort to finish the book. I don't get it that this book got high scores. The only thing that stood out is the cover.

Tammie (certified bed reader) You're right, Lyrico. The cover is superb, but it can't carry the book's hefty price tag.
