No one ever thinks why we're happy and smiling all the time but this book describes it all. Read it and it really goes down to the bone. The first chapter Comfort and Joy takes a look at happiness and the definition of it. The author tries to identify and describe where it is among human emotions which are universal and recognized by different people. Nettle the author describes three levels of happiness in our lives and they are: 1. momentary feeling of joy and pleasure2. well being and satisfaction 3. fulfilling one’s potential Chapter 2 is “Bread and Circus” and will talk about studies done during the past 50 years that surveyed peoples’ opinions of how happy they are in life. Basically, the book will explain to the reader why we a re happy. What does it exactly mean to be happy? and how do we smile or laugh. If your interested in things like that then its the perfect book. You will have to search up some words but the books real good.
