Jason and Jules are not so different as they might think but where Jules is open and honest with his emotions, Jason struggles to lay himself bare, and it's that struggle that is his downfall. The age difference of 12 years may also have something to do with it, as well as the fact that this is Jason's first gay relationship. Both have had bad experiences in their youth that have shaped them into the men they now are.

This story was a nicely written romance with a little dash of angst mixed in. The plot moved quickly, the supporting cast was nicely developed and the main story's two protagonists were realistically and beautifully portrayed.

Nearly half the book was taken up with their love scenes, and while this is to be expected from an erotica novel, it didn't actually distract me from the storyline and it didn't overwhelm the book. The scenes are certainly explicit but not crude, and the author actually uses each consecutive love session to further the emotional attachment and the bond between the two men.

I quite enjoyed reading this book and at less than 200 pages, it was a quick read. At the end, I choked up a bit due to one very emotional scene that really got to me.

I'll also be checking out more stories by this author.
