What a surprising book! This was the most unique and refreshing book I have read in a while. The typical dystopian sci-fi setting is turned on its head, with the futuristic (but gritty) Bangkok seeming somehow more exotic than the alien planets in other sci-fi. In the end, I felt a little bit dissatisfied by the main characters (I just couldn't quite bring myself to like them enough), but the setting and immersion more than made up for it.
