The land of decoration, a debut novel by Grace McCleen .. an interesting read..small chapters...some passages were so well-written that I had to write them down in a notebook.

Judith McPherson a 10 yrs old..a member of a Christian with her Father who is a preacher...she's got a model of the world as described in Genesis in her room..made from boxes..cartons...wires..everyday material collected from different places.

She gets to chose between knowledge and power ... She communicates with God...she becomes his instrument...she does miracles..some are good..some are bad ,more like good but turn into disasters...

I felt the novel took the structure of a bible..that it started with Genesis and ended with a sort of Revelation...

I tried to connect the name Judith with the biblical Book of Judith, but couldn't see how Judith could help by seducing the enemy and then beheading him...there was no seducing nor beheading in the novel.

It is an interesting book ...maybe not my cup of tea but I did enjoy reading it and hopefully others will find it enjoyable.
