While I will say I totally enjoyed inhabiting this book for all 600 pages, I can also see where the criticisms will come from. But doesn’t matter. Could it have ended earlier – possibly, but there were things to be said in the added happy ending. It’s a great story on it’s own, but if you want things to think about, there is a lot to say about what it means to be human. How can you hate a group of people but come to love an individual in that group? Does our physical self affect who were are and how we act and how people react to us? Can we be what others want us to be? How do you judge the motivations of someone who wants to leave, in the most final sense, and is that ever an option? Just some of the things that would run through my mind as I was reading.

In many ways I hope she does not write a sequel although there is an opportunity for one. Instead, I would like to see what else she might come up with next.
