Imagine that in a perfect world each child was born to loving parents. Imagine that both parents could hear and provide everything their children needed. Imagine that these children grew up in a school and society that helped them prepare for their future. This story is about what happens to Kambri Crews as she grows up with few of these imagined benefits. It is the moving story of a child who is forced too soon to become the adult in a family of deaf parents and caught between the Deaf and Hearing worlds. Although often a difficult read Kambri survives and triumphs in life with a remarkable view of all she has endured.
