This is a nice period romance with the marriage of convenience theme. The retired admiral needs a bride, the penniless and desperate widow needs a position in order to stay out of the workhouse. Cute story as you watch them learn about each other and fall in love. Of course, the conflict is the secrets they keep from each other that have the power to destroy their marriage. This is an old story line but I liked the way Kelly put it together. The end tied up a little too easily but hey, it is a romance right? Happily ever after is what you are looking for. In the past, I have considered Kelly mild in the bedroom aspects of the romance. This was mild compared to some but did have more than I expected in that regard.
