This is the first book I have read from this author and by the description I thought it was going to be much more heavy on religion. Surprisingly it was not as religion centered as I thought. It was a solid and unique crime mystery with the added elements of the psychological effects of war, family dilemmas, the stresses of small town life, and having the military come onto the scene. All in all I was very surprised by how much I liked it and how compellling the mystery turned out to be. It is not really a cozy mystery and it offers a lot more plot twists than that genre. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good mystery! 4 stars.
