Pray for Silence by Linda Castillo is a great book.

In the area I live a group of Amish individuals recently moved in.
I do not personally know these Amish individuals, but I have seen then at my work establishment. The descriptions of the simple life seem accurate to me from the standpoint of an outsider or an Englisher as Linda terms it in this marvelous book.

Whenever there are differences between two individuals or two groups the personal choices that caused the individual to make the decision to be a part of that group are often based on personal beliefs that that decision is the right decision or the better choice. This can lead to a feeling of superiority.

This feeling of superiority is the theme Linda uses to base the novel Pray for Silence on. It is a compelling story about how the feeling of superiority can lead to hate and hate crimes.

A true must read.
