it was ok

If I were to judge this book on the first half it would have received 4 stars. The first half (childhood) was interesting, and a fast read. Granted it was not a "nice" story. It was about the messed up childhood of an 11 year old girl, whose family family goes through a divorce. The mother was a fairly sane woman who just couldn't take living with an crazy alcoholic anymore. The problem was that the kids still spent a fair amount of time with this destructive man and his new alcohol fueled relationship with her best friend's mother. He soon marries her and they have 3 new siblings, who have taken over their rooms and home. Ok....the part that I couldn't take was adulthood. I HATE it when people make destructive decisions because they are trying to "fix" their childhood. I just couldn't read the second part of this book. Now I'm rethinking if I should even give it two stars!
