really liked it

We started using this book in bible class last January. But I didn't realize that the teacher was only doing a short course and that a different teacher with a different book would be starting in February. So I had started this, put it down for some time for the other book & class, then started over. I liked the book and found it challenging. While I won't be going into the desert anytime soon, there are plenty of things to learn from the ones who did. We can all find ourselves becoming too comfortable in our situations. Don't be afraid to shake things up a little! His last chapter, 'Walking with Discernment' had a section on 'The Great Experiment in Living Like Jesus' with these bold sections: 1. Master the basics first. 2. Accept beginner status. 3. Reject 'mega-spirituality.' 4. Respect limits. 5. Find a mentor and companions. 6. Experience joy. (I guess I'm leaving myself some bread crumbs to find my way back to some of the points in this book!)
