Spencer-Fleming returns to Miller's Kill with her usual brand of suspense-filled story-telling in I Shall Not Want. Clare Fergusson is still rector of St. Alban's but also the National Guard's newest helicopter pilot -- she is just so cool. I love Clare. I drop everything to speed through these novels the minute I find one is out, and this was no exception. I had some strange idea that she was done, after the last one which ended so bleakly. What a treat.
Fans of the series will thrill to the new twists & turns in Clare's relationship with police chief Russ. And the mystery itself will keep the reader involved.
I'm not a huge mystery reader but I've really enjoyed this series of books, thanks to the main character being a woman and an Episcopal priest. It's not too often one finds fellow Episcopalians in good fiction nowadays.
