Read from January 22 to 26, 2012

Caroly Evardt works in Paris as an assistant curator at a museum. She’s sick of being a virgin at almost thirty. A fellow employee tells her of a handsome prostitute who can help her with her problem. Caroly makes an appointment with the prostitute, Didier Pedra, who also works as a model. Caroly is both nervous and excited because she doesn’t know what to expect with the gorgeous Don Juan. She feels she’s an average looking woman but lacking enough that men wouldn’t find her attractive and believes Didier may feel the same.

When Caroly meets Didier at his flat, he explains the terms of their association and treats Caroly as a woman he would date. He cooks for her and they talk openly about what she wants from him. Didier is willing to take things slowly and does whatever Caroly asks of him. After a few sessions, Caroly becomes more comfortable with Didier and soon she’s willing to take that next step with him and allow him control over her body.

Caroly enjoys her time with Didier and starts to wonder if they can have more together. But she doesn’t have enough money to pay him and Didier hides a secret that would make things difficult if Caroly wanted to be seen in public with him.

Curio is not your typical romance and has a very ambiguous ending that leaves it up to the reader to decide what the future holds for Didier and Caroly. Didier is beautiful man both inside and out. He’s tender, understanding and honest. He’s exactly what Caroly needs and she couldn’t have asked for a better tutor.

The slow process toward sex for Caroly is both erotic and seductive. Didier gives Caroly what she needs by following her directions. The foreplay is very minimal here, although there’s a nice amount of kissing, including the way Caroly allows Didier to pleasure himself without her even touching him. The final accumulation of the sexual act between these two people shows the wonderful connection they have during their short time together.

Cara McKenna has created something special with Didier and Carolyn’s interactions. Curio is short erotic tale that really was enjoyable. I adored Didier and how he made Caroly believe she was sexy and beautiful and helped her knock down those walls she kept up for so long.
