After killing Elliot Slater and warning Mab of her impending death, Spider is now the most wanted on Mab’s list. Elektra LaFleur is hired to kill the spider and she might just be more powerful than anyone the Spider has encountered as she is an electric elemental. Gin Blanco is still reluctant to tell Bria who she really is but she knows that with Mab set out to kill both of them and Bria should know the truth. Owen Grayson and Gin are getting closer than ever and it seems Gin is falling hard for the charming guy. As the Spider kills more of Mab’s men, Mab becomes determined for the Spider to be assassinated by Elektra, she is not the only one looking for revenge, Jonah wants Gin dead as well. With intent, Gin keeps an eye out for Mab’s plans with Finn all whilst planning to celebrate Christmas with Owen. After the fiasco with Donovan, Gin can’t help but compare Donovan with Owen yet it seems no matter what, Owen accepts gin for who she really is. With her growing feelings for Owen and her hurt over Bria, Gin knows that she has to take down Elektra before anyone is hurt.

This book was faster paced then the previous ones but the plot wasn’t as captivating. A bit of a disappointment; After the first couple chapters, the story became quite interesting yet after that it seemed that the whole point was just to drag the endless plights if Gin. I did however, enjoy the action scenes that came up throughout the book. It’s good for the characters to mature but I feel as if the sassy assassin we met in the first book has been lost or detoured. The good part is that Gin isn’t mourning the department of Donovan and was using Owen for comfort...
