Another romance, so silly, so unreal, so sexist.

However, Anne McCaffrey writes wonderful characters, and this story was worth reading for Merlin and Dr Karsh are characters that I would read anything to meet, a shame that they weren't in space or a planet far, far away!

Kate Welty I first read this as a teenager, and yes, even then it was a little sexist, and yet there was something in it that made me like the author's voice - so I went looking for more - and that was the start of my reading pretty much anything of hers I could find. If I'd read it later, I would have liked it less, but the central role that Merlin plays alone was worth the story to me.
