Holy cow, this book was intense. It took me well over 200 pages to get into it. I'm glad I stuck with it, but certainly not an easy read. But wow, Owen Meany is one of the most memorable characters I can think of. This book is not for everyone- almost entirely focused on religion and politics. The relationship between the narrator and Owen is detailed from start to finish- over the course of their nearly 2-year friendship. Quite a climactic ending.
