** spoiler alert ** The last of the Earthsea cycle... the beginning was incredibly compelling and exciting, with Alder going from island to island in search of help. There is an anxious and foreboding feeling in the air. However, in the middle and nearing the end of the book, there is some lovey-dovey stuff that simply doesn't seem very interesting or relevant. I wanted to read more about dragons and the wall!

It was a decent book but it did not answer all of my questions or leave much of a conclusion. I would have like to known more about women on Roke and the old powers. I also wished Ged played a larger role. Unfortunately. it left off on a bit of a cliche love story. Ah well...

Still, this entire series is very entertaining and magical... it actually made me believe in dragons for a minute! Okay, not really... but it made me entertain the idea and that's more than any book can do for somenoe whose over the age of 10.
