Just when I thought his series, has gotten stale the author redeems himself with a stellar new character and an intense storyline. Cody Hoyt is a trouble cop with some bad habits but when he takes on a case he will follow the clues to wherever it takes him. When a body is discovered in a cabin following a fire, his partner Larry is inclined to write it up as a an accident but Cody feels in his gut that is murder. As Cody pursues the case, he irriates his superiors, alienates his partner and causes plenty of problems. With Yellowstone as the backdrop for this and many suspests this story takes many twists and turn. The author keeps it lively and gives the reader many reasons for each suspects he introduces and the ending does justify the whole.
