Not my favorite Peck by a long shot, though I do like to see him going into animal fantasy. Could high fantasy be next?! The narrative voice is a bit off, with folksy bits that seem at odds with the otherwise middle-class early 20th century East Coast origins of the these mice. Otherwise - a pleasant mouse-centric story with funny bits.
