This is a great, sad, heartwarming story. The main character, Lucky, is really anything but. He has 'squid' mom, a 'turtle' dad and a POW/MIA grandfather. After a particularly brutal attack by the bully that has taunted him since he was 7, Lucky and his mother leave Pensylvannia to spend a few weeks in Arizona. In the desert, Lucky learns how to stand up for himself and open up to other people. Excellent, believable characters bring this book to life. Read it and find out about the ants we all see!
