I am really torn about the rating on this book. It is probably a 2.5, and maybe a 3 in some ways. I liked the idea of the book and the ending makes me want to read the next installment, but I was really irritated by a great deal of the book. There were blatant plot parallels to The Hunger Games ranging from Callie's motivation to save her brother to a sad death of a young girl. Katniss also did what she did to save her younger sibling and mourned Rue's death. Both girls were torn between two boys and both became the face of a movement. It almost felt like I was checking off a list every time a new plot development or character appeared. I also figured out the ending before it happened. Despite all of this, I can't help but want to know what happens next. I hate that I have to write a review for NetGalley. I don't know where to go with it.
