Hello, nurse!

With Dead Sky Morning, Halle has hit her stride! Easily the scariest EIT novel so far, this book packs plenty of thrills, chills and delightfully spine-tingling moments that'll have you holding your breath--and only some of them are scary!

As usual, the chemistry between Perry and Dex sizzles, and Halle has ratcheted the tension up even higher. But she also deepens the relationship between them and watching them grow closer was really nice. We learn a lot more about each of them, including some tragic glimpses into their pasts, and through these glimpses, come to understand them even more.

The personal and professional stakes in Dead Sky Morning are higher than every before. With their web series starting to take off and a few blog comments making Perry reconsider her role as host (for better or for worse), the two are determined to produce an episode that'll really bring the scary. So they depart to an ex-leper colony turned national park. D'Arcy Island's history is bleak and chilling: it sets the perfect stage for Perry and Dex's near-death adventures. But it's the personal stakes that make the character interactions so engaging. I'll avoid specifics to keep from spoiling, but man, you can't help but feel for Perry and Dex.

The ending seemed a bit rushed, like another reviewer pointed out, but the book was otherwise very strong!
