Jan-Maat Tempting, makes me want to go dig up some AJP Taylor. No doubt you've heard of how the Russians used a homosexual honeytrap to obtain Austria's mobilisation plans in 1907 and 1908?

Origins of WWI are endless fascinating. So many people scheming and calculating and gambling. Everybody partly trapped by and trying at the same time to transcend domestic political/economic/social problems - with warfare and use of martial tension as a means of nation building. So much to get your teeth into...
