Book Giveaway: The Thief by award-winning author Fuminori Nakamura is a combination noir crime story and contemplative anti-hero character study, translated from the original Japanese. Once you read it, it’s easy to see why it received the distinguished Oe Literary Prize in Japan. The writing has an amazing flow to it that sweeps you into the main character’s life as he examines its many layers. Its pace is more contemplative, so it doesn’t really qualify as a thriller.
