This book predates Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code and it was the first book which writes about the theory that the bloodline of Jesus continues to this day.
Although scholars place no credence or plausibility in Baigent's ideas, there is sufficient imaginative information which makes one think. The book is written like a detective thriller and each chapter leads us on to the next as each mystery unfolds. I was finding it a mere interesting read until I read about the wedding at Cana where Mary, the mother of Jesus, is giving orders to the servants and it was remarked that only the mother of the groom would be fulfilling such a role!
