This is a beautiful book. But I wanted it to be longer or different, better. His writing is so luminous & lyrical I almost didn't remember I was reading. The plot or storyline was interesting but the jumping around was a little distracting. It served to explain what happened somewhat but the length seemed to demand a more condensed time period.
It is hard or seems idiotic to be critical of any of his writing and I suppose my only desire would have been longer time @ The Cat's Table as they seemed so real. Maybe that is my sole criticism.
I do dislike the cover- a blurry unappealing ship.
