liked it

an anti-war novel with a gung-ho protagonist. lots of great israeli pop culture references. in fact the book itself now is a pop culture phenomenon in israel. i liked it a lot. and i cried. in hebrew the title is "if there is heaven" and it's from graffiti written on the fort (Beaufort) where the israeli soldiers that are the characters in this book spend their time. "if there were heaven it would look like this, if there were hell it would feel like this" i have never been in lebanon but i have been to the border and it is beautiful
