Picked it up on a whim during an unlucky hunt for books at the library. So very thankful that I did. And because it was so fantastically written, I've put Steven Amsterdam's other titles on my "to read" list. The different perspectives work fantastically, allowing the reader to understand each of the characters deeply. It reminded me of Sylvia Plath's "The Bell Jar" simply because you immerse yourself so deeply in the book that you're not at all conscious of how far through the book you are, or for how long you've been sitting there reading. It has one of those simple but incredibly profound plots, that really leaves you pondering the situations long after you turn the last page. I wish I could give this 4.5 stars, it truly is literary brilliance.
