I've read several Richard Peck books that have thoroughly entertained me, and this book is no exception. Who would have thought that Peck could write an entertaining book about mice? But he can! My son read this book first and really enjoyed it, so I decided I should read it too. There's plenty of adventure as the mice evade cats and snakes, but after so much foreshadowing about the dangers of water I thought there would be more danger aboard the ship that the mice take to Europe. Nevertheless, it's a delightful story for the younger set.
