It's all Acorn's fault. First she got me hooked on Josh Lanyon and now she's lending me this Psy-cop series. I'm going to count the entire series as 1 book for my 52 challenge since this first one I read in about 2 hours last night.

The premise is quite intriguing - 1 in 500 of the population has psychic abilities (ranging from pre-cog to being the equivalent of a human lie detector). The MC is Vic, who is one half of a "spook squad" police detective unit, and he can see the dead. This causes all sorts of issues in his personal and work life, and sets him up nicely as the (self-medicating) tortured hero. I thought this was a great introduction to this unique universe though again, wish it had been longer - I will try to think on the series as a novel rather than considering each individual novella. Loved the supernatural elements, and this little taste had me immediately asking for more in the series. Another fun, quick read which I seem to be drawn to at the moment (a lazy summer!)
