Can you say wow?! I'm not a big history/nonfiction fan, but with Kadir Nelson not only illustrating this but also writing it, this is worthwhile for everyone to read. Sure, it has a lot of words, but his paintings are brilliant and it feels like he is speaking to you when he writes. I think it's Caldecott worthy.
