It is fun to read a story in a local setting and Spencer-Fleming writes in the Adirondack North Country. And this was takes place in winter-even better. The story is a classic mystery with plot twists and suspense. Clare Fergussen is the new Episcopal priest but she is also ex-army cop and is tough enough to take on the conservative vestry, as well as the bad guys, but soft enough to fall in love. A fun read, though somewhere in the middle I wanted her to get a good pair of boots and a real car already. This is the first of a series so I look forward to more.
