Zita is on a quest to save her friend Joseph after he is pulled into another dimension after she pushes the red button found in a hole created by an asteroid. Along the way she meets both friends and foes, and also some friends who behave fairly fiendishly until it really counts. Zita's journey reminded me a lot of the Jim Henson movie Labyrinth (my favorite movie of all time) and becuase that movie is loosely based on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, you could say this story reminds me of that one too. It's got action, adventure, ooey gooey friendship moments, battle scenes, and by the looks of the ending many more adventures to come. I think fans of the Amelia Rules and Jellaby books will like Zita and I'd recommend it especially for grades 3-5 though I'm pretty sure almost anybody will like this book.
