Twitter review: Despite my desire for "a little less conversation, a little more action," @DenimAlley's The Rook is fun. Loved the world & Myfanwy.

I would read a whole series of books set in this world that has the fantastic and horrific teeming under the surface of normalcy. My biggest complaint is actually that although there are some very cool ideas here they are not fleshed out enough or developed in enough detail. Some were only dealt with offstage or described in conversation, which means that we the readers missed out on their resolutions. Also, some of the history of this world alluded to stories I'd like to read but that we only get a taste of here.

I hope Daniel O'Malley explores this world further and provides more vivid explorations of what is too often only gestured at here in later work.
