A really good read. Millard brings life to a story and characters that I never knew. Garfield is certainly a President glossed over in US History, as is Chester Arthur, and really a great deal of that period. It's a really brilliantly paced story with page-turning characters that simply happens to have happened in real life. Highly recommended.

It was also very refreshing in a way - a good way to remember that politics has indeed been much, much worse. It was actually interesting to see some of the parallels between Garfield and Obama, as well. I won't spoil how, but I think you'll see it if you read it.
