A another very engaging read from Anne Rice. This is the second book in the series about the Mayfair witches, but it can be read without reading the preceding book. The author does an excellent job with drawing the reader into the world of the Mayfair witches and their relationship with the entity known as "Lasher."
I personally enjoyed this read because of how the author combined old world mysticism with modern day conventionality. The only problem I really had with this book was the graphic depictions of rape throughout the book along with the pervasive themes of incest and pedophilia, which is why I gave it only 4 stars.
This is a good read overall for those people who have enjoyed other offerings from Anne Rice.
