If given the option, this book would have ranked 3.5 out of 5.

The prose of this book is beautifully written, with interesting characters. It's too bad that the most character depth goes into minor characters rather than the main characters. The first half of the book is the set up. The main characters take over in the last half which doesn't allow for the same amount of attention. Well worth the read though.
