Diane Ackerman's prose so grabs my intellect, my senses, and my heart-strings. She is consummate wordsmith who shares lovingly and honestly about her experience of her husband Paul West's stroke and subsequent aphasia. It's also a beautiful portrait of a marital partnership moving through upheaval and loss with love and resilience.
